Dear Fourth Grader,
My name is Ms. Archibald and I'm really excited to be your fourth grade teacher! This will be my 12th year teaching fourth grade in Lexington, and my 10th year being at Bowman. I taught at Harrington for two years before moving over to Bowman. Every year, I am grateful to be part of such a strong community of students, parents, and staff at the Bowman Elementary School, and I appreciate that even more so this year. I know we are going to have an awesome year together! |
About Me |
I was born in Malden, Massachusetts and moved to Lexington at the age of 6 to start elementary school. I went to Estabrook Elementary School, Diamond Middle School, and graduated from Lexington High School in 2004. I grew up with my older brother and sister, and my parents. I now also have a step-mother, and two younger half siblings added to my family.
After high school, I attended Westfield State College, where I majored in Elementary Education. I started teaching in the Lexington Public Schools after college, and have been a fourth grade teacher the whole time! I went to American International College to get my Masters Degree in Reading, and am a certified reading specialist as well. I now live in Billerica with my partner, Kandal, and his two children, Kalex (13) and Kaitlyn (7). We love to spend our time hiking, biking, doing puzzles, and playing board/card games. Our favorite game to play this summer was Phase 10 - have you ever played it before? |
My Hopes and Dreams |
As your teacher, it is my hope to help you reach your best academic and personal potential. I want you to become the best student and young person that you can be.
I will encourage you to try your hardest, be comfortable making mistakes, and to take risks. We will build a safe and supportive classroom community where you'll be able to do all these things. We will have lots of fun, too! We will work on having a growth mindset this year, setting and revisiting goals for ourselves, and persevere when things may seem challenging. We have a great team of teachers working together to bring you the best 4th grade school year! Sincerely, Ms. Archibald |
